Technology affords us ever more ways to communicate, but if our communication habits aren’t good to begin with, all technology gives us is a faster or more convenient way to ruin our relationships with people.
Twenty years of working in communications has taught me this: as grand as technology can be — and often, it is a necessity — the farther away you get from face-to-face communication, the more you increase the likelihood that your message will be misunderstood and hence, ignored.
